Cardio HIIT Bursts and Interval Training….for the Win!

I made it thru the holidays…all the crazy busy! My gym app tells me that I’ve visited 21 times as of the 26th day of this month and now all of the fun fare is behind me. I have eaten in variety and volume to prime my metabolism and with an intentional caloric deficit, the true dial-in can begin. Just a little over 9 weeks out, it is GO time!

I trained upper body this AM and put in my conditioning bursts to create heart rate hills and valleys. I did a super set of two body parts, followed by 30 seconds of either: jumping jacks, jump rope (except someone moved the rope!), high knees, cart push/pull, battle ropes, or a treadmill sprint, as seen here. I pulled off 12 total bursts today and I feel 18!!

On the tread, I raise it up to the speed I want and carefully hop on board. I adjust the speed when I want more and eventually pump the tread up to 10.0 MPH, but it takes me a few times to get up to that speed <don’t try this at home!>. 30 seconds, all out, and forward focus.

Never look back. Chase the process!
