I was working “in the office” <coffee shop!> again this week. I told the gals I was going to go off norm and go crazy. How about we add 1 pump of pumpkin spice to my drink?!
They let me use my “My Fitness Pal” app to scan the container to get the macros and they come in at 7.6 grams of carbs, all sugar of course, for the one pump. Added to my usual venti Americano, this worked in fine to my macros for that day and I enjoyed the change and extra flavor!
I compared it to a venti whole-milk pumpkin spice latte for kicks and it’s quite the contrast: 510 calories, 20g fat, 64g carbs, 61g sugar, and 18g of protein. At all that, I would have to go take a nap!
I added stevia and cinnamon to my Americano modification and the taste was excellent. This would also work well in a black coffee, too. Now I can “spend” the calories/macros I saved on more food elsewhere instead of in a drink. It is nice to have this option, still get the flavor, and not be bogged down by a major sugar impact for the next few hours!
