Don’t like the additives in the food on the shelves? Solve the problem….Make your own!
The Mr. made us almond milk after I discovered waaaaay too many items I didn’t want us ingesting in the one we had been using. Oh this journey is a practice and I learn everyday!
•How to•
-He soaked 1 cup raw, organic almonds overnight. This lowers the phytic acid and prevents malabsorption of important vitamins and minerals. Drain in the AM.
-Blend 3 cups of filtered water, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and the soaked almonds
-Strain thru cheesecloth to squeeze out the liquid into a pitcher; It’s ready to go!
-Salvage the almond remnants to use in baking, toppings, and snacks. Put in a pan and bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes.
Fresh. No inflammatory additives. My great grandmother would recognize this as food!
