I went to a birthday party last night and had a few plates of good eats. Then I got a sweet tooth and inquired about the cake. It’s a birthday party. There’s gotta be cake, right?
Someone there said, “You eat cake?”
I then realized I have sent mixed messages and have a lot more educating to do.
Yes, I eat cake.
No, not every day.
It’s part of my 10%.
I promote establishing a set balance for yourself. Be it 70/30, 80/20, 90/10, eating whole foods the majority of the time. Find your balance of “fun foods” in your 30, 20 or 10%.
Our daily habits are the biggest impacts on our energy, mindset, strength and well-being. This AM I had my usual iced coffee and in my 10% I’m enjoying my kiddo’s homemade banana bread for breakfast.
It’s said we tend to eat the same 7 to 15 foods on a routine basis. Analyze what that is to you and realize how it impacts your wellness.
And on occasion, allow yourself a piece of cake and your son’s banana bread, too!
