I get asked often what kind of protein options are out there and there are tons! I used to drink several protein shakes in years past and then went through a phase of “I’m going to eat all my food”. So I switched gears and ate more red meat, fish, eggs and egg whites and still do.
Disclosure: I don’t rep for any brand at the time of writing this post. No one has paid me to say any of this and I make $0 in commission off any sale or website link below. This is just from one Fit Gal to another!

I found this by doing a “What is the best whey protein” search online and came up with this article here:

In the past, I used one serving post-workout. This one is plain because I don’t want the chemicals from the fake flavors. I put my supplements in it and a few drops of stevia. It is a bit chalky, but I got it down and it got the job done. I’ve had issues tolerating dairy in the past, but in this case, the whey is a unique part of the dairy process and contains little to no lactose, so I did well with this product…no bloating, weight gain or digestive issues.
Here is where I bought mine {and where I currently buy my supplements}: Netrition.com

I’ve also used the Sunwarrior line in the past and it is a great product. I used the chocolate and it comes from a brown rice protein base, which is great for those who want dairy free. It has few ingredients in the line-up and is sweetened naturally with stevia, which was important to me.
The Classic Chocolate line-up Ingredients: Raw Whole Grain Brown Rice Protein, Raw Organic Cocoa, Natural Vanilla Flavor, Chocolate Extract, Rice Oligodextrin, Stevia, Xanthan Gum, Ancient Sea Salt, Pectin

Another great line is the Garden of Life products, in their pea protein line and “Raw Fit” line. I’ve used that in the past and I just like the premise of the company as well.

If you’re wanting to save money and forego the whole protein shake option, I’ve also just used pasteurized egg whites from my local grocery and had great results there, too. I put them in a blender with kefir or cold coffee, added stevia, maybe some ice and then blend! It’s a nice protein option!
