I was getting on Pinterest to find some pics for my home office redo and I saw a “lose weight fast” link and picture on my home page. I’m only highlighting this to draw attention to the perpetual lies and misleading messages within the fitness marketing industry.
After being on this journey for over six years now, I would NEVER trade fast for the benefit of the slow results I’ve gained.
Why? I have been transformed mentally, emotionally, and spiritually and because of that, my physical has changed. You CANNOT get that in a fast track, like 2 weeks, a 12-week transformation or even a year. You first have to go for the issues, the habits, the mindset and then the physical changes come and STAY!
Here are some more reasons why fast is NOT your friend:
•You cannot safely lose that much weight in that short of time and if you do, it is likely water and very little fat. So when you start eating “normal” for you again, you will likely gain it back and then some. Slow and steady is the way to go!
•Why do we want to undo years of being on a different path with a sudden fast track? If you have been in a different lifestyle for 2, 5, or 10+ years, give yourself an equal amount of time to redo your mindset, habits, and then your physique…in that order! Seems fair to me! Don’t expect to reach your goals in 2 or even 12 weeks. You’re just getting started!
•Don’t buy in to the hype that a smaller pants size or six pack abs or a tiny waist gives you happiness. If you are unhappy at a size 16, you will be as unhappy at a size 6 or 2.
Find your eternal happiness in knowing you’re a child of God, created in His image for a purpose. Then you’ll be so fulfilled and feel the duty to love yourself like He loves you as you are, that taking care of all parts you will naturally become part of your amazingly happy lifestyle!
Ditch the fast-track mindset.
Fitness rant over.
Now I must get back to redesigning my home office…..
