Stats: 136.6; 9.23% Body Fat; Last week: 137.6, 11.47% BF
Calorie intake: Drop this week! 1835 daily down from 1968 last week. The change came from dropping my 12-almond snack and switching out 1 pound of broccoli at lunch to 3 cups of cabbage. I got the ok to do the Dole cole slaw mix (no dressing…don’t freak out!) even though it has a few carrots in the mix. 3 cups worth is the same macro/calorie amount to 1 pound of straight cabbage, so it’s in check with the plan. The cabbage is a nice change and I can tell my digestion is already noticing the difference. Honestly, the broccoli was hard on my system. I loved eating it, but it was tough to digest some days.
This week a person actually asked me if I’m eating enough and getting enough nutrients (because they noticed my body changes). Drives me CRAZY when people see someone who is determined and consistent and assumes there must be a “problem.” Quick answer: YES….I eat A LOT! The reason I love this so much is because it’s food my body craves and tolerates and is responding very well too.
I’ll say my diet source and overview again: I follow the Fighter Diet Contest Prep plan. My diet it filled with oatmeal, flax meal, fish oil, egg whites, cabbage, olive oil, Sun Warrior protein shakes, Fighter Diet Greens, rice cakes (and sometimes Mike & Ike’s) post workout, chicken, flax oil, salted meals and green beans…..every.single.day! Oh, and 2 gallons of water daily, too!
For my show-day carb test this week on Saturday, I did two whole grain, homemade pancakes and 1 tsp of low fat maple syrup. I waited 2 hours and took a peek at my abs. I actually noticed the pump more in my arms, so I may up the pancake load next week to get a fuller, whole-body effect. I also kept the water (and any other foods) out for those two hours (since I’ll be dry the day of show!)
Cardio: My body fat drop really surprised us {again!}, so we backed my cardio down to 4 30-minute steady-state or HIIT sessions.
Lifting: New lifting split this past week. Monday/Thursday we combined chest, tricep, shoulder; Tuesday/Saturday was back and biceps; Wednesday was legs. It was nice to trick the body on mixing the splits.
Rest Days: Friday AND Sunday….Friday I was at the Arnold and moved my rest and workout days. Remember, change is good for your body!
Update:
As we get closer to show time, I’m just adding in a couple of update shots! This week’s pics:
I love dressing up! Jewelry and heels on and proudly sporting one of my fave White House Black Market dresses. This is the payback to working hard and staying the plan….feeling good in the clothes you love! PS-Muscle is MADE for dresses!
This was the highlight of my week. I hit the 2013 Arnold Sports Festival with my hubs. You can read my overview on that onthis post HERE! It truly fueled my flame for this sport and I came home confidently ready to jump on that stage. I know there’ s much posing practice and body transformation yet to take place, but it’s such a great feeling to find your passion and find your fit of like-minded people. It’s an annual event for us to attend for sure!!
My message to you this week: Just.keep.going. Stay the course, work your plan, be consistent in your positive systems, and patiently wait on the new you to show up. You’ve got this!
I have a story, you have a story. Just a reminder of where I started in October 2009…….
