Making A Decision Or Making A Change?

The New Year brings many people to focus on the past year and the year to come.  It’s common for many to write out resolutions and think about what they’re going to change.  The definition of a resolution is: a firm “decision” to do or not to do something.  The word decision implies thinking about it, writing it down, putting it on a list, or making a plan.  But where’s the action?  Just a thought or idea, but no forward movement…..maybe that’s why they often fall part?
 
Wouldn’t it be great if more people made New Year’s Revolutions instead?  The word revolution means: “complete change” from one constitution to another.  It’s usually used in relation to talking politics or government.  But let’s apply it to life change, habits, our daily choices.
 
What if instead of just making decisions we make complete change in our habits and make it a lifestyle?  If we just decide to do something, but never activate it, it goes no where.  Our resolutions often get a bad rap because they just sit on the list rather then get put in motion.  Let’s each make a revolution of change in our lives and see what this year has in store!
