I’m attending three holiday party events over the next three days. Want to know my plan to stay on plan?
I phrase it as “on plan” because we each have different goals and plans we follow. Hopefully this share out will generally apply and you can steal some of my strategy, too!
Ultimate Goal:
Have a plan and stay mindful. I keep that motto all year. It’s when your nutrition is constantly an after thought enter a danger zone. How can you make strides in your physique with a “What nutrition plan?” mindset?
Event #1: An outdoor concert in the PM with family, we bring our own food
-get my lift and HIIT in earlier in the day
-hit my water goals. I
Event #2: Catered Buffet at our Club on the 4thaim for 200 ounces a day, that is what my body likes. Your goals are for you!
-track earlier in the day and plan for the food I know we are bringing
-make room for a dessert in the macros…symphony concerts need chocolate {and maybe some wine!}
-get my lift in earlier in the day
-get a family bike ride in on a local trail (extra cardio, maybe a little extra food to enjoy?!)
-hit the above water goals
-hit my fiber goals earlier in the day
-track all foods earlier in the day
-I know the meal being served. It’s a traditional burger, pulled pork, potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw, fruit and dessert type of meal. I will plan for the burger (muscles love red meat!) and half of the bun because I try to limit my white flour products. If they have veggies or a salad, I’m all over it. I will minimally eat any cream-based dishes and again, save a spot for dessert! It’s the 4th, people!
Event #3: An all-afternoon and evening birthday party; food unknown
-get in my planned lift and HIIT
-hit my water goals
-hit my fiber goals early in the day
-track all foods until t
And there is my balanced plan!he party
-BUT leave room for plenty of unknown. If I have a good amount of macro space left going into the party, I can survey the scene and choose the fresh items and indulge some as well.
I got this. You got this. We got this.
Happy 4th of July, Fit People!
