A friend came to lift with me this past week and challenged me to some new ideas. On my plan was a DB upright row. So we did this one instead! I know I got some funny looks, but you gotta try it!
I started by standing at the cables. Because the range of motion was not great enough, I stood on a stool so I was not stopped by the length of the cable relative to my height. We focused on bringing my elbows up super high and keeping my grip very narrow, in turn hitting those front delts.
To superset that, I went down to the ground and braced my feet against the base of the machine. I pulled the cable up to my chin (actually hitting it) and then resisted the weight slowly back to starting. This took all my base off my feet and put the tension solely on my delts, not allowing other muscle groups to be recruited (vs. the standing rows)
I was SUPER heavy on these and went to failure on each set. Don’t forget, #liftlikeagirl!
